What is digital autopsy?

Digital autopsy is an alternative to invasive post-mortems. This method involves the use of scans and computer software to establish the cause of death. On occasions, a traditional autopsy may be necessary. More than 70% of cases now can be concluded with the use of a digital autopsy.

This way offers peace of mind and dignity and can ease the emotional burden of families. The body remains covered throughout the process.
digital imaging technology

Breakthrough digital imaging technology

Digital autopsy uses 3D imaging and 360-degree rotation that helps medical examiners and pathologist to view and examine the body in high definition. It takes a huge step in respecting the dignity of the deceased.

We have a state-of-the-art, non-invasive digital autopsy facility that helps establish the cause of unnatural deaths.
What to do when someone dies?
digital autopsy

Benefits of choosing digital autopsy over traditional methods:

  • Since the body is digitally scanned, the deceased is treated with respect and dignity
  • A digital image of the body can be stored and retrieved for further post-mortem investigations, examinations and medical research
  • With 3D imaging, foreign objects and abnormalities can be located quickly
  • It’s quicker than traditional autopsies and takes only 10 minutes to scan the body
  • Reduced emotional impact on families
